Poverty Alleviation

Despite how resourceful our knowledge and technology has gotten over the ages, poverty continues to plague many lives worldwide. This phenomenon of extreme destitution can be qualified by an insufficiency in at least one of five indispensable elements of life: education, health, nutrition, capital, and culture. Efforts designed to help people in need gain access either directly or indirectly to these vital resources can help fill the gap present in many regions throughout the globe, and ultimately addresses the problem of poverty at its core. Dr. Eric Mulumba Zozo is an initiator and advocate of such efforts.

Education

Mobilizing all community levels to make the most out of formal education. Programs Implemented by Dr. EMZ: • AIIR's National STEM Initiative • AIIR STEM Scholarships • AIIR Student Success Scholarship • WBFA Educare Program • WBFA School-Supply Drive in the Republic of Congo • Training Program in Cameroon • Conferences throughout Africa

An effective and distinguished educational system has the ability to prepare and equip people to solve societal problems. And, in turn, individuals who have unlocked their potential to answer a need get to become productive, self-sufficient members of society with a stable income. Explained in this context, education extends beyond the school system and reaches every community level.

Individually, students should be given the opportunity to obtain a formal education no matter their household income, this is why scholarship programs, school-supply drives, sponsorships, and free educational youth camps are so important.

As a unit, parents should be informed about the careers sought after by the labor market to adequately guide their children's career choices. Conferences and public, career-oriented information sessions organized by academic and other types of institutions are ideal to serve this purpose.

Without exception, all types of industries benefit greatly from company and businesses hosting open-houses for families and professionals in training to obtain further insights into the specialties that are lacking in human resources.

Looking more broadly, communities should use the necessary means to create educational campaigns tailored to present and anticipated areas of opportunity while also establishing public and private programs that offer individuals of lower income the chance to complete the highest level of education.

Quality Health

Prioritizing quality in the prevention of disease and delivery of treatment. Campaigns and actvities organized in Africa, America, and Europe by Dr. EMZ: • Malaria Prevention • Dental Hygiene Awareness • Health Material Distribution • Heart Disease Prevention • Child Malnutrition Prevention • Dirty Hands Disease Prevention • AIDS Prevention

Populations of low income need even more so than their counterparts to be informed about methods of disease prevention. Patients, providers, and healthcare facilities facing limited financial resources need additional support to fully uphold best practices from the primordial down to the quaternary level of prevention.

Beyond prevention, it is equally important to equip healthcare stakeholders from communities of low income with the necessary items, tools, and knowledge required to offer and obtain the best quality of care and treatment possible. Supplementing hospitals with the means to offer a balanced diet to their patients; helping clinics obtain healthcare supplies; or hosting training programs to enhance information processing within and between healthcare systems are examples of activities proven to be of great value in this context.

Job Creation

Generating new work opportunities and wealth through entrepreneurship. Sectors Supported by Dr. EMZ : • Consultancy • Networking • Innovation • Investment Industries Supported by Dr. EMZ : • Research • Technology • Healthcare • Education • Agriculture • Social Services

While becoming an active member of the workforce has its merit, it can only accomplish so much in terms of contribution to a growing the pool of human capital available to an economy. However, there exists a select group of people is defined by a desire to put people to work for the realization of a mission inspired by an ambitious vision: entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs play a critical role in alleviating poverty in two chief manners. On one hand, employers who establish successful businesses simultaneously create new job opportunities and, by proxy, the possibility for people to secure a stable income. On the other hand, entrepreneurs (especially ones working in transformative fields) stretch the scope of the economy by establishing new avenues of capitalization. Thus, not only is it noble, but even indispensable to create environments and services that accompany entrepreneurs in their journey from the infancy to the institution of their business.

International Solidarity

Maintaining peace demands that nations collaborate constructively with each other. Efforts Pioneered by Dr. EMZ: • Poverty Alleviation Efforts Actioned by Nongovernmental Organization • European Parliament Conference to Support Africa • Congo-Israel Cooperation

Nations and their populations gain substantially from fostering and maintaining good interactions with their close and distant neighbors. Consequently, countries should aim to pursue collaborative relationships with mutual benefits on the short and long term. In a time when distrust and apprehension seems to characterize the global climate, private and public acts of international solidarity can accomplish a great deal in the fight for peace.

Further, assessed more directly in relation to poverty alleviation, bilateral and multilateral international relationships play a noteworthy role as follows. When first world countries commit to assisting their second or third world counterpart achieve domestic growth and sustainability, it creates social order within sad countries. This social order then eliminates the phenomena of mass emigration and brain drains caused by domestic unrest that plague developing countries by reducing their competent human capital. Further, it also diminishes the threat of extremism and terrorism that could otherwise exist due to perceived international inequalities. Thus, cooperation between states and countries via their respective governments or nongovernmental means for the elimination of widespread poverty is key in creating a more stable global environment.
